I had a doctor's appointment on Monday. They took some blood and we discussed my thyroid. You see, I have hypothyroidism and my medicine ran out in December. Recently, I've noticed how incredible tired I've been and fuzzy and sluggish, etc. Obviously you know what's going on.
My doctor called me himself to give me the results from my blood test - yep! Hypothyroidism! He gave me a prescription on Monday for medicine, which I filled today, which I'll start tomorrow.
My favorite part was when he said, 'Remember when you were telling me how tired you were feeling? You actually have a legitimate medical reason for it.' That made me feel so much better, because every day between 2:30 and 3:30 I hit a wall and just want to slump down on the couch and sleep. But every day I never do that, instead, I either have a cup of coffee or some cold water to try to snap out of it. I refuse to be 'off' around EK because it's not fair to her.
He also told me to take some Vitamin D because people don't get enough of it these days and I need a lot of it. Done and done, sir.
As a side note, special thanks to Angie's List (hell yeah I belong) for pointing me in his direction. He is one cool dude.
Tomorrow will be the first day of the rest of my life. Looking forward to feeling more normal now, especially for EK's benefit.
Aaaah science. You're a wonderful thing.

I'm glad you're back on meds. It's not fun to be tired because of your thyroid.
